I just discovered OSBORN/SHOES yesterday when my friend Emma said the wanted to wear these while sitting in my Guatemalan Sunset chair. Now I am DYING for a pair. The company is based here in Williamsburg, and they work closely with a team in Guatemala City to produce them by hand with local materials.
I really love the use of native woven fabrics like the Mayan huipile and African kente cloth in the shoes below.

Refinery 29 talked up this company on their earth day blog entry -- they are blowing up! Good for them, bad for me, b/c now all my favorite shoes are gone gone gone. The next batch of high-top guatemalen booties are MINE. will be wearing to your studio asap.
