From Russia With Love

Bostonian that he is, Trevor also sent me some fabulous turn-of-the-century images of Russia from The Boston Globe site Boston.com. The series is shot by photographer Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii (1863-1944), photographer to Tsar Nicholas II. It is hard to believe these brilliantly hued photographs were taken between 1909 and 1912. I had no idea this quality of photo existed 100 years ago, I am blown away. The peasants are dressed amazingly too.
